Zo heet een in dit geval eeuwenoude eik, zo gevormd door lang gebruik van kappen en knotten voor geriefhout als bijl- en hamerstelen en stoelhout.
Dit laatste in combinatie met de vele ‘poten’ zoals de individuele stammen worden genoemd heeft wellicht geleid tot het woord Stoel.
De ondergestoven stam gaat ondergronds waarschijnlijk wel een meter diep.
The actual treetrunk is covered by about a meter of dune sand.
This old Oak is formed this way by ages of pruning and cutting the branches for usage as handles of hammers and axis en also for capentry wood …
